Delta has acquired and operated floating storage vessels over many years, to offer increased storage capacity and flexibility in order to provide a market oriented solution to its clients. Currently, Delta owns and operates a Swedish made ex BP oil tanker and is planning to expand its shipping operations to other vessels. Delta has operated a floating oil storage Terminal located within the Poti Port, Georgia, and had been operational since March 2000 until 2004. The vessel had a total capacity of 33,000 m3. with 33 storage tanks of 1,000 m3. A total of 300 vessels have used the Oil Terminal without incidents, since its start-up and cumulative throughput exceeded 2.0 million metric tons.

Bunkering

As shipping is an integral part of the trading and storage acitivities, Delta plans to build on its expertise to develop further projects on the shipping side. Vessel chartering, purchasing and operating has enabled Delta to build on the relationship with shipowners and ship brokering agencies alike.

Recently, Delta has decided to capitalise on its assets and network by starting bunkering operations at its Terminals. The Baku - Ceyhan pipeline and Iraqi pipeline will provide a yearly capacity flow of over 120 million tons of oil. Therefore, the close proximity to source, the potential volume in the region and Delta's current assets and business know how is resulting in the emergence of a new business line that is set to commence. The demand in the market is being created by a sound marketing approach and attractive market conditions.
