The Dörtyol terminal, established in 1983, is on the eastern Mediterranean coast in the Bay of Iskenderun. Its location is highly strategic due to its proximity to the world's second largest proven oil reserves in Iraq, and because it is a key part of an increasingly important hub of petroleum activity at the Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline terminus and the terminus of the Baku-Tiblisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline.

Dörtyol provides the petroleum industry with an integrated service portfolio including storage, blending, handling, transportation and distribution. Serving importers and exporters, Dörtyol handles an average of over 3 million metric tons of petroleum and petroleum products annually, with volumes expected to increase significantly as Iraqi extraction increases and the BTC pipeline becomes operational. The facility covers a total area of 218,686 m² (2.3 million sq. ft.), with a 600 meter (2,000 ft.) seafront. Its harbor has a draft of 17 meters with three berths, onefor white goods, another for black goods and the third for bunkering operations. Both the black and white berths accommodate vessels up to 250 meters (820 ft.) in length and 55,000 DWT. The terminal's 19 tanks and 300,000 m³ capacity is evenly divided between white and black products. Two road tanker stations, one for black and the other for white products, load or discharge 78 tankers simultaneously.
